Death toll in Abu Ghreib blast at nine, including two US soldiers

BAGHDAD, June 22 (KUNA) — The death toll in the attack carried out by a suicide bomber in Abu Ghreib area, western Baghdad, reached nine, including two US soldiers.

The attacker, onboard an explosives-laden vehicle, blew himself up near the municipal council and a police station in the town, an Iraqi police source told KUNA.

The attack also resulted in injuring 18 people, five of which are US soldiers, who were then rushed from the blast scene for treatment, the source added.

The US Army has not issued a comment on the attack at this time.

Baghdad has been witnessing a series of attacks since the wee hours of today.
